His green eyes looked wildly around. He had been out before, but he had never seen the forest so big and bright and green beautiful, he was born in leaf-bare anyways. Then he looked at his mother. "Hunt?" he asked. "Oh yeah!" He looked around again and saw a few bushes, he flicked his tail. "Over there. Is that okay?" he asked Fawn, unsure of exactly what to do.

He nodded his head. He had wanted Fawn to watch him, so he could show her how well he could hunt. He scented the air, but was surprised to find too many, he couldn't distinguish any except for a few mice, but he wasn't skilled in tracking yet. When he heard rustling, his ears flicked forward and he saw one of the mice. He crouched down, his tail flicking wildly. When the mouse looked up he froze for a second, then he leaped, but the creature had shot away and he landed on his stomach, empty-pawed. He shyly glanced up at his mother, that wasn't what he'd expected to happen.

The flame-colored tom stopped and watched from behind the trees as Wind tried his fist hunt. He shook his head, taking note of the flaws and mistakes the kit had made. Once he had missed the mouse the deputy padded out of the shadows and over to Wind. He flicked his tail in greeting to Fawn before looking down at him. "You could've caught that, but you had messed up on a few things." He sat down. "One, don't flick your tail around as much, you stir up dust and leaves when you do that. keep it still and just above the ground. Two, crcoubh down as low as you can without touching your belly fur to the ground. Three, stay focussed, it'll help a lot. Then if you strengthen up your legs and stalk forward a little you could catch it." He paused for a second. "Don't hesitate though, leap when your instincts tell you too. A second thought could slow you down." He turned to Fawn. "Your kit has a lot to learn, but he'll be a good trainee."
