Oddpaw Farm

The small golden brown she-cat slid through the long grass of the field, staying low and silent. Some of the Oddpaw Farm was abandoned, but there were also places that were still runnning, like the one she was passing. Sheep were grazing in a small field and an Oddpaw was out watching. Quickly, she slid against the side of the barn and rounded the corner to the back of it where the plants grew tall. Mushroom waited a moment as she turned her violet eyes back to see if Fawn had followed.

"This place is odd."She muttered quietly, coming up behind the medicine cat. "Now, where is the catmint?" She could already feel her mouth watering, but she knew this was for Mushroom, not for enjoyment.

Her tail flicked and she nodded her head as Fawn joined her once more. Turning her head, she jerked it towards the dirrection of the tall plants. They were perfect, and if they weren't picked now, they would slowly begin to die. The she-cat made her way through the grass until she was right beside the few growing stems. "Alright, you pick out two and I'll get two, that should be good. These are so tall that I'm sure we'll be stocked with just a few of them."

"Okay." she meowed, padding up to the plants. She carefully pulled two out, and made herself not bite into the plants. It was tempting, but she knew Mushroom needed them. Backing away, she let Mushroom grab her mouthful.

Mushroom pawed at the ground, trying to dig up the roots also. An idea had formed in her mind, that when the snowfall came, she would still be able to grow some catmint. No cat had ever tried it before, but it was worth a shot. Grasping the plant stems in her jaws she yanked them out of the ground and lifted her chin so that they wouldn't drag on the ground as she walked. Once she had as much as she needed, she turned back to Fawn. "Alright, let's go," she mumbeled through the herbs before quickly slipping off.

The tom-cat flicked his ears trying to catch what they were whispering about. Then he realized it was none of his business, and they wouldn't be plotting anything or doing anything suspicious. So, he turned his attention away and instead focused on Hollow's breathing to make sure he was still steadily sleeping. Finding him alright Flame spoke quietly. "Yes, it's getting very late, we should be heading back to camp," he mumbeled and with a flick of his tail he had turned around. "Let's go," he meowed, heading through the forest and back to camp.

She flicked her tail, looking at Tank. "All right, let's go." She padded through the weeds, coming on to a sort of trail which they had made coming here. She padded on quickly, glancing back to see if Tank was close behind or not. Then, she tripped, catching herself just before she hit the ground. She had forgotten about that tree root. She laughed to herself and kept going, following Flame home.

He nodded his head, not really saying anything else as he padded along through the undergrowth, quickly catching up to Calla Lilly and Flame. When she tripped he laid his tail on her back to help steady her before keeping up with a steady pace. He couldn't wait to get back to camp. They had been searching all day and it was already late, and they had been going in circles and he was exhausted. Tank would bet all of the prey in the fresh kill pile that they were just as tired. Well, maybe not Flame, he always seemed to busy to take a break, but of course that didn't mean he wasn't tired. tank shook the thoughts from his head and continued on.

The sun shone on the ginger she-cat, as her petite paws landed roughly on the summer green grass. Her green orbs examined the outdoors, searching for her friends. "Flame!" she called, hoping to get an answer. "Fawn! Calla Lily! Tank!" The sun was going down it would be dark soon. 'I better find them soon...'

His ears perked up as he heard a familiar voice. He stopped looking for a moment as the voice continued, calling all of their names. As his ears turned in the dirrection of sound, so did his head. He turned completely towards it and slipped through the underbrush until he almost ran into his old friend. "Fox!" he meowed surprised. He hadn't seen her in a while. The shock of seeing her turned him into his old self. He felt a little looser, but he strengthened up again like the noble deputy he was. "Hey. Who's looking for us?" he asked, figuring someone had to have sent her after them.

The tom's sudden appearance starled the she-cat, causing her to jump back. "Whoa! Hey Flame!" she mewed, feeling even more kittish then she felt this morning. "Well, I noticed you have been missing so I asked Mushroom where you were and she said you guys were looking for Hallow, but she said that you guys were gone for a while, so I decided to come look for you guys." she purred, happy just to even be next to Flame. "Speaking of which, have you guys found Hallow?" she asked, beginning to get off topic. Which was easy with her short attention span.

He flicked his tail, settling himself down as he sat on the ground. Now that the sun was down his pelt was no longer flaming like normal, but had dulled to a silver-grey in the moonlight. His amber eyes glowed at the sight of Fox, he had missed her. The whole Army had been keeping to thereselves, but now he was glad everyone was coming out of their shells. They were like catterpillars out first, growing and expanding, then they hardened into seperate cacoons, now everyone is emerging, better than ever! "We are on his trail, but he must be asleep, we keep going in circles with no sign of him," he informed her. His ears flicked as he heard rustling a clump of leaves beside him and he glanced down. He looked at Fox for a second, telling her that it was probably Hollow, waking from sleep.

The she cat copied Flame, wrapping her tail around her paws. Fox looked into his amber eyes, listening to his words, understanding them, almost as if reading his mind. Fox nodded her head, in responce, then turned it to the rustling. [sorry, I just woke up, and I'm rusty at this]

Flame got to his paws and padded over towards the rustling, sticking one of his paws into the patch of leaves. He yanked his paw back when he felt fur, was it Hollow or something else? He parted the leaves to see Hollow still half-asleep, just wallering around. He couldn't believe the kit hadn't even tried to find his way home. 'He's still too dependant on the rest of the Army. He needs to learn to try things out for himself,' Flame thought. He bent over and picked up Hollow by his scruff, holding the tom-kit tightly in his jaws. He nodded to Fox and headed back towards Tanka dn Calla Lilly.

Fox watched as the tom picked up the kit. 'He'll be a great father somday.' she thought as she got to her ginger paws staring after Flame until he dissapeared in the brush. Fox turned around and padded towards the camp.
